much discussion on parking meters. If this is a source of revenue, how much revenue is generated from meters on an annual basis? Some considerations, eliminate all parking meters, increase the amount of parking fees, if "meter money" is a revenue generator, why not expand the area of parking meters, Cherry, Locust, Walnut, Chestnut Streets, place parking meters on these streets from Front to Sixth Street (that is if you want to generate more revenue)
or issue parking permits for residents at their homes. i'd pay money to have a space in front of my property, and i have to fix the sidewalk and curb and pay taxes on that piece of property. not my lazy neighbors
i agree with an idea on permit parking-you pay by the month or the year for the parking space in front of your house-that you have to maintain, shovel the snow, kill the weeds, fix the curb, replace the sidewalk, etc. AND PAY TAXES for-but you can't park there because that lazy neighbor with 5 cars INSISTS on parking in front of your house, my house and my other neighbors house DAILY !!!! and to top that off, the lazy ass' have a 2 car garage AND off street parking-but they would have to walk thru their dog shot yard to use it !!!! wow and that's the truth !!!!
