In 2009, there were just six teams in the Class A playoffs. That's because about three of the 11 teams in the class went winless and another didn't want to go with two wins. Yes, had they wanted to, the Tide could have went to the playoffs last year, but didn't.
So with that in mind, five Class A teams, including Columbia, scored wins last night. They were Reading Central Catholic, Millersburg, Steel-High and Upper Dauphin.
Class A teams losing were Camp Hill, Carson Long,Halifax and York Catholic.
Fairfield was idle.
