In the past two days, West Hempfield Police has received a rash of Vehicle Break in's through out the Township and Mountville Borough. In most, the victim's vehicles were left UNLOCKED and valuables left in plain view.
Below is a list of dates and locations incidents have taken place:

7/20/11: (3 incidents on) 3600 blk Falcon Ct, 1st blk W. Main St Mountville, 3600 blk Wildflower Dr,

Once again, Police urge residents to lock their cars and not to leave valuables inside. Turn on outside lights, and strange nighttime noises should be reported to Police at the time they are heard as with strange vehicles or persons in your neighborhood.

i hope they catch the punks !
barry, why haven't you mentioned the NEW FENCE ORDINANCE - that's ridiculous ?? if a couple taxpayers attend the council mtg and demand they rescind it - it would make our lives easier....it just deosn't make any sense...there's a 2 foot area that no one will or can get to to take care of....another prime example of TAXPAYERS WASTE OF MONEY !!!!!!
The fence ordinance passed a few months back. At the time it passed, sefveral members of the council questioned it. It was combined with an ordinance about solar energy. Because of the cost of advetising such ordinances, it was combined, which I can understand. At a legislation committee meeting last month, a boro code person spoke against it. Yes, come to meetings and get it turned around. This is a case of a member of council having a personal issue, which needs to end and will end if elected.
thanks for the info ! have a great day.
Like most ordinance's in this Borough they lack support if it were challenged in court. I know for a fact a new fence was installed without a permit. This was new fencing. A fence was never on this property. Its a joke to have these guys out there looking for violations and they turn around and tell you it won't hold up because it lacks teeth....When they fired Phil Gerber they made a grave mistake. He was a no nonsense enforcer.
CMC......
Barry, could you give us a brief overview of what this new ordinance entails?
all questions regarding orindances (new or otherwise) should be referred to chairman of The Property Committee, call the borough office for details of how to engage with the committee,
property committee mtg is tuesday august 2 at 7 pm in the boro office counciul chamber - it's an open mtg for the public.....
This was an ordinanced passed by the Legislation Committee. That committee meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Fence ordinance concerns new fence cnstruction and approval of neighbors or there has to be two foot setback.
Not all of us have time to go to every borough meeting. I was simply asking Mr. Ford, not you, Anonymous.
i also have a life and "don't have time" but sometimes, we have to prioritize !!! what's really important. (i know some work shift work or have children involved in sports, etc. i understand, i'm a parent too. thanks.
Quit making excuses, if your have a concern attend the meetings, voice your concerns to proper authority. You have to time to respond to this blog, so make time to attend the meetings to have your concerns aired.
