An idea

When I was down South, there were two things I noticed when I entered a town. There was a sign welcoming people and the town's water towers, such as the one at Third and Linden streets had letters welcoming it to a town. Just thought it would be a nice way to spruce up the town a little.

I thought that water tower is going to be remade into a big ice cream cone as part of the THE . No kidding...I heard that!

It will become an ice cream cone. Just using that as an example.

It's a dam shame they took the water tower down at the colonial metels building. All because of a deal.

Put a solar panel on it.

Good idea. But, let me pose an unrelated question...

How is it that one tiny little entity in town can hold others hostage by not permitting anyone else to use the term 'Fourth Friday?' I continue to be fascinated by the narrow minds of power seekers. If this town is ever to progress, people have got to stop working at odds with one another.

Wait a minute, Roberts and the CEDC will want the Borough to pay if we put a solar panel on it.

I am married to Bill Stephenson, formerly of Columbia. We live in the South where it is common for water towers to welcome visitors to town. It always makes me happy to see the creative ways different towns can express their welcome to visitors.Columbia has a lot to be proud of, the Crimson Tide, the beautiful river, the historic bridge, and most of all the wonderful caring people!
