DUI check point busts 7

Seven people were charged with driving under the influence as the result of a DUI Sobriety Check held from 11:30 p.m., Nov 4 and 2:30 a.m., Nov 5 on Route 462 in the area of 18th Street in West Hempfield Township.
Police said 14 drivers were tested and in addition to the seven DUI charges, there were 12 summary citations given or for offenses such as inspection violations, registration and driving under suspension.
Assisting township police were officers from Columbia Borough, Manor Township, Mount Joy Borough, Lititz Borough and the Lancaster County DUI Task Force.
