Checking on something I heard last night and today that I find out a little incredible, so I will throw it out there. The "little something" I heard today was the building pictured above, the former Sprint building, will become a Farmer's Market. It's not to replace the current market, but apparently to operate on the same days as the current market.

AS LONG AS THE COLUMBIA BOROUGH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RUNNING IT, JUST COULD BECOME THE BIGGEST MARKET IN THE COUNTY.
Here is what I have heard on this topic:
1. A Doolittle property
2. Renae Sears at the wheel
3. Mark Vera, Taco Stand Owner to start it all off
4. Attempts to persuade current Market House stand holders to make the move including Keagey's produce stand and the Amish stand holders.
Looking at that building, I just can't see it myself. How about you Barry?
this sounds like a pipe dream to me. If the current market is not full how can we have another one. I understand that there seems to be some upset vendors that would be happy to go somewhere else in town, but are there enough of them to keep another one going? I have not heard what the politics were that have been happening but I thought Renea did a very good job
maybe the market house can be a special events center for coin shows - art shows - chamber events - and indoor parking for the new cruisers during off times - or why not even two markets since we have three antique centers - two proposed hotels - and turkey hill
Has anyone glanced in the "open" windows of the Sprint building? Puddles of water on the floor, that place is just horrible, stripped and all. Where is the money coming from for all of this? How about the other water collection site basically across the street from the building. Give me a break. Marco Sardi (a realtor) is supposedly the other guy involved in this proposal, the owner of Marco's Pizza in Marietta off of 441. Doolittle? Income? No contribution there. This all does not add up.
