Break up the Tide girls

It has been a long year athletically at Columbia High School. Losses have coe faster than wins.
The only team to record a winning record this season was the Tide in wrestling. They might be joined in the win colun by the Tide girls' softball team.
Coach Brad Brubaker's team won their thitrd straight game this week by dominating Lebanon Catholic Wednesday afternoon, 6-1.
The story of the game was junior hurler Emily Detz. She allowed the Beavers just one hit, while striking out 16 and walking two.
She was also 2-4 at the plate with a double.

Freshmen Ashlyn Phillips and Jenna Plastino enjoyed big days on offense. Phillips was 2-3 with a double and triple. Plastino went 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI. Senior Allison Michener was 2-4 with a triple.
It was Detz' second one-hitter of the week. She allowed one hit Tuesday against Eastern in a 10-0 win. She sruck out 12 in that win.
The Tide, heading into Friday's game with Lancaster Catholic, is 3-1 on the  season and 2-0 in Section 4.

In baseball, the Tide picked up its first win of the season with a 14-2 five-inning win over Lebanon Catholic Wednesday afternoon.
