Crusin' Columbia Car Show proceeds given out

 Three Lancaster County groups received checks for $3,400 each from proceeds from the annual Cruisin’ Columbia Car Show held June 19 in Columbia.


Receiving the checks were the Columbia K-9 Campaign, Hospice of Lancaster County and the Columbia Food Bank. Show organizer Barry Doutrich said the K-9 campaign also received a years worth of dog food from Musser’s Market, while the Food Bank received donations of more than 1,000 pounds of food and $300 cash.

More than 400 cars participated in the event.



SVCC Night at the Barnstormers

Peanuts! Popcorn! Crackerjacks! Enjoy the standard treats popular at a baseball game while benefiting the SVCC.
Purchase a ticket to the Lancaster Barnstormers vs. York Revolution game on Saturday, August 14, and SVCC will earn a portion of the ticket price to help support the Visitors Center.

The game, beginning at 6:30, will end with fireworks. Tickets to the game are $10 each. The SVCC will have a limited number of tickets on hand. While we have not yet received our supply, we are taking pre-orders. Reserve your ticket by contacting us at 684-5249, or by stopping in to see us.

Tickets that benefit the SVCC may also be ordered on-line. Follow the easy steps listed below when you place your on-line order. Invite friends and family to an enjoyable night out. Support the SVCC and Visitors Center by purchasing tickets to the August 14, 2010, Barnstormers game.

2. Click on the “Fundraising Log-in” Button
3. Click on the SVCC logo (same as top of this article)
4. Enter SVCC when prompted to enter a group fundraising
5. Click “Buy”
6. A schematic of the available seats will be shown in green. Select the seats
you want by clicking on the individual locations.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your order

Columbia No. 1 to hold barbecue

The Columbia No. 1 Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue, Saturday, Sept. 11, starting at 11 a.m.
Dinners are $8 annd its $4 for a half chicken.
Tickets are available from members.

Risk Watch to hold Seat Safety Check

There will be a Child Safety Seat Check, Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Kleen-Rite Car Wash, 16th Street and Lancaster Avenue.
Bring your car seat in the vehicle along with the child who uses it.
Partners are SVEMS, Kleen-Rite Car Wash, Columbia Boro Police Department and Susquehanna Fire & Rescue Co. #4.
