Police investigate two robberies

West Hempfield Township police are investigating two separate Turkey Hill store robberies.
Pictured is the suspect in the second robbery of the store in the 1400 block of Stony Battery Road, July 2.
Police are looking for a black male between 5-7 and 5-8 with a medium to heavy build wearing a gray shirt and bandanna.
The robber made away with cartons of cigarettes and cash.
In the second robbery, police are looking for a thinly built white male in his 20s or 30s, in connection with a July 3 robbery of the Turkey Hill store in the 300 block of East Main Street in Mountville.
The suspect shopped for a few items in the store and approached the clerk for a carton of cigarettes. When the clerk went to the back of the store, the suspect made off with between 85 and 100 packs of cigarettes.
Anyone with information on these holdups is asked to call police at 285-5191.

Too much trash

Day in and day out, there are a number of places around our town that there is plenty of trash laying in the street. This one just was a little too much. My suggestion is if people are trashing our town, please call and report it. It's the only way we can get things cleaned up.

Old glory dangling

Caught this picture of the American flag touching the ground this morning. Noticed thid yesterday also.

Before and after

On June 17, I posted this photo of weeds at a condemned house in the 900 block of Barber Street. Today, the yard looks a lot different and much better.
