Two charged in assault


West Hempfield Township Police have charged two Columbia women in connection with an assault last night in the parking lot of Weis Markets, 1786 Columbia Ave., around 8:39 p.m.
Charged were Amanda Lynn Kinnard, 26,  of 420 Manor St. and Amanda Sue Place, 29, of 160 Walnut St.
They were charged with robbery, assault, criminal conspriacy and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident involving a 68-year-old female from Mountville.
Police said the woman was assaulted in friont of the store, but fought back, after being approached at her car and punched in the face,. The two women left thr scene and were caught near Mountvillr on Route 462.
The two admitted to the robbery and said they were casing local businesses to rob. Two young children were also found in the vehicle.
The pair were taking to Central Booking for arraignment.

West Hempfield Township Police reports

Police are investigating a robbery at the Gayle Kline RV Cemtere, East Main Street, Mountville, Dec. 12.
Polixe said five RVs were forceably entered and five large screens televsions were removed.

Police said officials of the Oak Hollow Apartment complex reported the theft of eletronics from an apartment, Dec. 13.

Dennis Wishard, 43, of Mountville, was charged with simple assault as the result of a domestic dispute, Dec.9.
Police said Wishard hit his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

Police are investigating the theft of electronics from Kmart, 3975 Columbia Ave., Dec. 3.
Employees said they obseerved a male cutting open eletronic pacxkages, but fled the store before police arrived.

West Hempfield Township police reports

A Lancaster resident reported the theft of her purse, while her vehicle was parked in the 3600 block of Marietta Ave., Oct. 11.

A Mount Joy resident reported the theft of money and medications, while her vehicle was parked in the first block of East Main Street, Mountville, Oct. 10.

Police are investigating a one vehicle accident in the 4400 block of Marietta Ave., Oct 8, where a vehicle struck a hosuse.

Isaac J. Vohta, 28, of Lancaster, was charged with DUI and driving under suspension, as the result of a traffic stop at Route 30 and Donnerville Road.

David Thomas, 20, of Columbia, was charged with retail theft for taking a small amount of cold medicine at Musser's Market, 3900 block of Columbia Avenue, Oct. 12.

Police qare looking for a white male with gray hair in his 50s or 60s, who broke out a window of a car parked in the parking lot of Musser's Market, Oct. 12.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 285-5191.

Steven C. Radtke, 47, of Mount Joy, was charged with retail theft and driving under suspension as the result of a gas drive off at the Turkey Hill store, Route 462 and Prospect Road, Oct. 5.

Police investigate two robberies

West Hempfield Township police are investigating two separate Turkey Hill store robberies.
Pictured is the suspect in the second robbery of the store in the 1400 block of Stony Battery Road, July 2.
Police are looking for a black male between 5-7 and 5-8 with a medium to heavy build wearing a gray shirt and bandanna.
The robber made away with cartons of cigarettes and cash.
In the second robbery, police are looking for a thinly built white male in his 20s or 30s, in connection with a July 3 robbery of the Turkey Hill store in the 300 block of East Main Street in Mountville.
The suspect shopped for a few items in the store and approached the clerk for a carton of cigarettes. When the clerk went to the back of the store, the suspect made off with between 85 and 100 packs of cigarettes.
Anyone with information on these holdups is asked to call police at 285-5191.
