Fire outside VFW

Firemen from Columbia battled a fire Monday morning outside the Red Rose Memorial Post 2435, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fourth and Manor streets around 9:49 a.m.
An outdoor building attached to the pavillion was damaged.
The police department was first on the scene with a small fire showing.
The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
