Saturday: Is This What We Want?

Is This What We Want ventures today to the heart of our downtown for this problem structure along Route 462 near the town square. This property has long been a thorn in the borough's side and has been vacant for a long time as well and is in need of work.

This would be a great location for a Rita's or something like that...except there's no real parking area. It's a shame there's no parking in the business district to accomodate local businesses (or any real effort to do something about it). Maybe Doolitte's field at 4th and Locust would be a good place to blacktop and paint some spaces?

Walked past there today...asking 159K in the window....no parking, old gas station...are there any in-ground issues that would hold a person back from wanting to buy this property? $160K is too much....bulldoze this over too and make some parking....

There are a lot of issues with this property, code relared and others. There are probably tanks in the ground as well, being an old gas station. Noticed this morning in the rear of the property, there is stucko/siding coming off as well. Good location for a parking area, or possible small business, because of parking issues. Would also make a great extension to the town square. Definitely not worth the price.

This place is a black hole of retail, and is almost impossible to park near. I don't believe I've ever seen a business there last more than a couple years. Make a park segment or something out of it.
