A little too much to drink!

Noticed this morning the water fountain was again flowing in the town square, perhaps because soeone had a little too much Natural Light overnight.

If the boro would place recycle containers downtown, this might mot happen..

Yes, recycling containers that would be wonderful. Also something to put the cigarettes out in so the butts aren't all over the sidewalks and streets. I think I'll look into the cost of some metal buckets and sand, and maybe a recycling bin too. Perhaps if some of the other businesses would be willing to place something like this outside their shops it would help improve the look of the town.

why blame the borough for not putting out recycle bins and smoking cointainers for butts. We all have an accountability, DO NOT LITTER!!!! This includes the scum that tosses cig butts out from their car windows. Each AM on my street(S 8th) I find bottles, butts, paperwappers, etc thrown on the street and in the gutter, yes I clean up the mess made by those who don't care.

bs,
I agree with you on this. I make it a point to sweep my stoop and sidewalk each day my shop is open. The stuff I clean up sometimes is enough to make my stomach churn. My stoop is used for a seat when my shop is closed and whatever is consumed or done there is left behind. What options are there other than to clean it up ourselves? I would appreciate some suggestions from anyone.

unfortunately i have no answers. but i thank you for taking the pride to sweep daily !
it's a real shame that the government doesn't make those collecting free goods-food stamps, wic, health insurance and checks weekly to do something for all that they receive for free. like pay taxes on rentals, do 100 hours of community service per year, the actual real disabled persons would be exempt from the physical labor but they may enjoy reading to choldren at the library or telling stories of yesteryears to the little ones. we all need to embrace every available option to make this a better town

simple option - hire a litter cop, like the meter lady, to walk around and give ticket for litter - it would generate more revenue for the boro then meters! - its all about enforcement of rules
