A reader of this site talked to me this morning and asked me to take a picture of the "hole in the ground," "downtown swimming pool" and former site of the Etzweiler Funeral Home and CA Herr Annex. The concern after heavy rains, the water lays in the hole for days and could be or is a breeding ground for the West Nile Virus.

Another David Doolittle property. Again, our borough has no spine to make anyone do anything. The guess here is Mr. Doolittle will or has offered the "whole" for the boro for a parking lot for "his" market. Council will bend over and he'll say how far and he wins. He gets some bucks for a worthless piece of crap and a parking lot.

How is it so easy for Doolittle to get these properties when he is so much financial trouble and in some cases-legal? The council needs to step down, move over or ask US what should change and take our words to a meeting and fight for what is good for Columbia. First by starting to remove holes of nasty water, empty lots filled with nails, buildings with no roof's and landlord/investors who say...I USED Columbia because I could! Don't we matter COUNCIL!
and what's up with all of the spiders lately - there are spider webs hanging off just about every building, sign, etc., is this typical for this time of year ??
YOU THINK THIS IS BAD, WAIT UNTIL DOOLITTLE, (WHICH IS A WONDERFUL NAME FOR HIM), GETS THE O.K. TO TEAR DOWN ANOTHER PLACE, AT LOCUST & 4TH. STREET. HIS 'DREAM' IS TO MAKE A RESTAURANT/HOTEL? I HOPE IT LOOKS BETTER THAN HIS HIGHRISE AT THE END OF THE BRIDGE, AND ALL THE WINDMILLS FOR POWER, IN THAT AREA. GOTTA GIVE IT TO HIM, HE'S GETTING LOTS MORE OUT OF COLUMBIA THAN HE DID DOWN IN THE STRASBURG AREA. O.M.GOODNESS! DID I THINK THIS OUT LOUD? COME ON COUNCIL/ZONING/MANAGERS, WAKE UP!
