This is very sad news. Fred was a true Columbian. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family!

We lost a lot of people that defined Columbia in the past year.

RIP Mr. Abendschein.

Fred was a great guy and he certainly will be missed my many. Every time that I bought a new property, Fred was the first to bring me information on the history of the property even when I didn't ask for it!

Fred loved Columbia and he loved the rich History. Over the years, whenever someone asked me about the history of one of my properties (which was quite often ! ), I told them to call Fred !, and if Fred didn‘t know the answer, he would gladly do the research because he loved history and he loved Columbia.

Furthermore, Fred often supported my endeavors even when it went against his preference of historic preservation., so long as it was in the best interest of progress in Columbia. Fred was a true Columbian, and I’m very sorry to hear that he passed at such a young age. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Sincerely,

David Doolittle
