Something like this is long overdue in town. Is this a venture of LGH or another local hospital or is it a private venture?

Columbia Talk said...

Spoke tonight to Don Murphy of Cimarron Properties, who owns the property.
He said he has a long term tennant for the first floor of the property to provide urgent care to the area and its not Lancaster General, who Murphy said, was not interested, He initially wanted to put a restaurant in the facility, but the economic times were not right. He expects the facility to open in the fall and will be renting out and reopening the eight apartments on the second and third floors.
"This just made sense," Murphy said of the facility.
In addition to the need when Lancaster General closed the old Columbia Hospital, Murphy said the borough lost a number of doctors when they moved out to the township.
"There was an opportunity and the timing was perfect," Murphy said.

It will be nice to have something nearby where you can get treatment without waiting for hours. I cut my arm on a saw last year and needed a few stitches. Went to LGH and waited close to 3 hours. Most of the people waiting ahead of me where people who were just using the emergency room as their personal doctor's office.
