Indictment in murder case

Orange County District Attorney Frank Phillips announces that the Orange County Grand Jury has
voted an indictment in the case of Timothy Handle. DOB 09-05-71.
Handle's last address was 276 Riley Road, New Windsor, NY. He was arrested by New York State
Police Troop F on 8/4/11, and charged with the Murder of Kathleen M. Connolly who disappeared from
her home in Lancaster Pa. in July, and whose body was found in New Windsor, N.Y.
An "Affadavit of Voted Indictment" has been filed with the Local Criminal Court of the Town of New
Windsor. This divests the local court of jurisdiction and negates the requirement for a Preliminary
Hearing in that court.
By law the District Attorney cannot disclose the contents of any indictment until it is filed in County
Court. We expect that the Indictment will be handed up on Monday August 15.
We will not be making any other statements about any of the facts or circumstances about this case
until the arraignment sometime next week in Orange County Court.
The defendant is represented by the Legal Aid Society.
The prosecutor is Chief Trial Assistant DA John Geidel.
