The Columbia VFW Band, Red Rose Post 2435, in conjunction with the Sundowners, will present a free concerts to the public on Sunday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Locust Street Park gazebo in Columbia.
The concert on Aug. 21 will be "Jazz Music" and will feature big band music, including Glenn Miller selections "A String of Pearls" and "In the Mood"; Benny Goodman selections "Sing, Sing, Sing," “Stompin' at the Savoy," and “Let's Dance”; and a Paul Murtha arrangement, "Jump, Jive An' Swing," featuring "Rock This Town," "Flip, Flop, and Fly," and "Jump, Jive, An' Wail."
