Before and After
Here is what could be called a "Before" and "after." In the top photo, a picture of the railroad tracks at Florence and Mill streets, all grown over with weeds as of last week. In the bottom photo is this week's picture, with the weeds cut and trimmed throughout the area on both sides. It does look like some weed killer may have been used because the weeds went from a greenish to a brownish color.
Last Day is tomorrow
Friday at 2 p.m. marks the end of an era in Columbia as the M&T Bank at Fourth and Locust streets closes its doors.
Picnic under the bridge piers
Even though it was a little hot today, this family found some cooling for a lunchtime picnic at River Park shaded by one of the piers of the 462 Bridge.
No problem on the River
Rescue crews from Columbia, Wrightsville and Bainbridge were called to the Susquehanna River for a report of an overturned canoe near the Route 30 Bridge around 12:30 p.m. A serach of the river found people swimming and there were no problems.
