Cruisin Columbia Car Show makes donation

There will be live music, games, rides, food and fun for everyone. The live music on Saturday evening will feature Black Jack. The fireworks display will be on July 9 at 10:15 p.m.

Vandalism to the Columbia Town Square was discovered this morning. Vandals pushed a huge flower pot off a wall, damaging it and a bed of flowers.

Police investigate two robberies
West Hempfield Township police are investigating two separate Turkey Hill store robberies.
Pictured is the suspect in the second robbery of the store in the 1400 block of Stony Battery Road, July 2.
Police are looking for a black male between 5-7 and 5-8 with a medium to heavy build wearing a gray shirt and bandanna.
The robber made away with cartons of cigarettes and cash.
In the second robbery, police are looking for a thinly built white male in his 20s or 30s, in connection with a July 3 robbery of the Turkey Hill store in the 300 block of East Main Street in Mountville.
The suspect shopped for a few items in the store and approached the clerk for a carton of cigarettes. When the clerk went to the back of the store, the suspect made off with between 85 and 100 packs of cigarettes.
Anyone with information on these holdups is asked to call police at 285-5191.

Columbia Lodge #286 of the Masons, presented a $1,000 Scholarship each year to a graduating Senior from Columbia. Too much trash
Day in and day out, there are a number of places around our town that there is plenty of trash laying in the street. This one just was a little too much. My suggestion is if people are trashing our town, please call and report it. It's the only way we can get things cleaned up.

I see a lot of trash and weeds as I'm sure others do around town. Today, we have someone running around bottomless. Found this on Barber Street. near Plane Street.
Wires down
Noticed this over the last week on Plane Street between Barber and Manor, one of two locations on that block where cable wires are down. There's also a pole that looks like its about to fall down as well.

Fire Marshall called to fire
A state police fire marshall was called to the scene of fire tonightr around 6:30 p.m. on South Fifth Street, just off Union. In addition to all three Columbia fire companies, others on the scene were from Wrightsville, West Hempfield and Mountville.
Accident takes out fireworks stand
Around 7 o'clock, while emergency crews were fighting a fire in the area of Fifth and Union streets, they received a second call for an accident at 12th Street and Route 462. The gray vehicle was traveling west on 462, cross the road, struck the firworks' stand and came to rest in the parking lot of Scott's Automotive. There were inor injuries. The Blue Rock and Wrightsville fire departments handled the call, along with QRS 8 and SVEMS.
