Fire meeting is tomorrow

Representatives of Columbia No. 1 Fire Department, Susquehanna Fire & Rescue Co. #4 and Columbia Consolidated Fire Department will hold an informational session regarding the consolidation of fire and rescue services in Columbia Borough on Tuesday, June 28th at the Columbia Jr./Sr. High School beginning at 7:00 pm.
Rob Brady of the Department of Community and Economic Development will faciliate the presentation.
The meeting is open to the public and members of the respective fire companies are encouraged to attend.

Comedy Show to benefit grid boosters

The Columbia Football Booster Club will hold a Comedy and Dance Night on Saturday, Sept 10, from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Earl David Reed will perform.
Reed is a trendsetter in the comedy and radio world. Within his 15 years of stand up comedy, he has performed at over 100 comedy clubs and colleges and is a favorite in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Along with his 10 years of morning broadcasting experience and numerous television appearances, his improvisational style has become a favorite of radio and stage audiences all around.
Deemed the “ultimate morning show co-host for any format”, he presently can be heard weekday mornings on WQXA 105.7 the X on the Nipsey, Earl and Jen Shade Show.
The night will be held at the Susquehanna Fire Company and a donation of $25 a person is asked.

Living History

The historic Mount Bethel Cemetery will hold "Living History in Mount Bethel: One Story at a Time," Sunday, Sept. 18, starting at 2 p.m.
The day will honor veterans and include activities for children and adults.
There will be guided tours, starting at 2 p.m. and children's activities.
A luminary ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. featuring the Columbia VFW Band and a speech by USMC Chief Warrant Officer 4 Ed Wickenheiser.
Admission is $5 for adults and students 6-16, $3.

Alice in Wonderland

If your were downtown yesterday and saw some young people dressed in unusual costumes, here's why.
The Columbia High School Drama Department, with the support of the Columbia Downtown Development Corporation and Regalia Costumers, will present Alice in Wonderland in the Locust Street Park, Aug,. 5-7.
Nightly shows are at 6:30 p.m. Afternoon shows on Aug. 6 and 7 are at 2 p.m.
The show is free, although donations will be accepted.
